Simon Laurie RSW RGI

Simon Laurie RSW RGI is a contemporary Scottish artist known for his rich and evocative landscape and still life paintings. Born in Glasgow in 1964, he trained at the Glasgow School of Art and has worked with acrylic paint for nearly four decades, developing a distinctive visual language rooted in texture, colour and form. His work often reflects Scottish life and society through everyday objects and elements of the landscape arranged with thoughtful balance and depth. Laurie was elected to the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolours in 1991 and to the Royal Glasgow Institute in 2000, where he also served as convener. His paintings have featured in many solo exhibitions across the UK and internationally and are held in numerous public and private collections.
