Calum Stevenson is a Scottish painter whose work explores movement, light and the human figure with a dynamic, contemporary approach. Born in Falkirk in 1997, he studied Fine Art at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design before completing his MA at Glasgow School of Art. His practice blends strong observational skill with expressive mark-making, creating paintings that sit between realism and atmospheric abstraction. In 2021 he won Portrait Artist of the Year, and his winning portrait of Nicola Benedetti now hangs in the Scottish National Portrait Gallery. Calum’s work is held in both public and private collections, and he continues to develop a distinctive, evolving visual language rooted in energy, gesture and presence.
